Explosion from the Past

Wait, I think I got that wrong… it’s supposed to rhyme.

Well it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything here.  I’ve mostly been focusing on some other things and just haven’t had much time to put a lot of interesting things on here.  Hopefully my loyal readers aren’t too upset, but rest assured, things are going to get pretty crazy in here… we’re going to be partying like it’s 1985!  Of course, I didn’t actually have an NES in 1985, some of you might have even had one earlier… The point is:

Rapid Prototyping Mayhem 1.0

I’ve been working on this wrapping layer that I will then be using to make retro styled (low res pixel art, simple controls) games that will make us all feel nostalgic.

Over the next week or two, I’ll be posting updates on the progress of this wrapping layer / game engine / holy grail and from time to time post some ideas on what will be prototyped.  Most likely I’ll do some side-scrolling shooter or something as an example project for the engine, and post the progress of that up here as well.  It’s going to be busy (hopefully) and exciting for everyone.

If you have any suggestions for what you’d like to see in RPM, or suggestions for some sort of wacky game you’d like to see, leave a comment / contact me and I’ll post about it.  Also looking for anyone interested in pixel art (and doing some to promote their portfolio).  I’ll gladly provide links to your websites within any of these example games if you provide art assets.
